Cel Miner LLC is a startup company founded by Mr. Shaojun Liu in 2018 with the vision to promote the use of digital technology in water, wastewater, and stormwater industry. The company is established with the goal to help utility providers, municipalities, and public utility districts in digitizing, updating, and managing their assets via geographical information systems (GIS), computer-aided drawing (CAD), and hydraulic modeling software. Ultimately, with the development of online ArcGIS and other online platforms, the company aims to help promote the use of these ease-of-access resources to increase the asset management efficiency and remote access ability. The company is currently based in Colorado and planned to provide delicate services to customers across the United States where there is rapid growth or any area in need.
Water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure are critical in delivering needed services to the general public. At the same time, they are valuable assets to the utility districts and providers. For example, a typical installation of a new sewer manhole may cost a few thousand dollars. And a utility district could have owned hundreds to thousands of them. Accurately documenting and inventorying these assets are important to the utility districts.
With the growing population and aging infrastructure, replacing and upsizing the utilities are becoming a big trend in the industry. Take the Michigan Flint Lead Water Crisis as an example, water service pipes installed in the early 20th century may have Lead constituent in them and can cause public health concerns. Locating and replacing these lead pipes may be at top of the agenda for the utility districts and providers.
Data integrity and security are the company's top priority since utilities information are closely tied with public safety. The company will hold the highest level of care in handling the utilities data and privacy to protect the public health and environment.
